Privacy policy

Your watch history is not an advertising product.

Zoshra exists to help friends discover what to watch through each other. We collect the viewing information needed to make that work, and share identifiable activity only with the friends you choose to connect with. Public discovery can include an anonymous, randomized sample of recently watched YouTube videos.

Effective July 17, 2026

No ad profiling

Your viewing activity is never used to target advertising.

Friends you accept

A profile visit alone does not unlock your watch activity.

Purpose limited

Extension access is used for tracking, syncing, and your feed.

No general browser history

Zoshra only processes viewing activity on its supported services.

01

What Zoshra collects

Zoshra collects the information needed to create your account, track supported viewing activity, and build a private social feed for you and your accepted friends.

  • Account information: your email address, display name, username, profile photo, and the sign-in identifiers supplied by Google and Supabase.
  • Viewing activity: titles, creators or channels, show and episode details when available, streaming platform, playback progress, time watched, page URL or service identifier, and activity timestamps.
  • Friend information: friend requests, accepted connections, and invite-link relationships.
  • Technical information: authentication state, queued sync events, history-sync status, and limited operational logs used to keep the service secure and diagnose failures.
02

How the data is used

We use this information to provide Zoshra: to recognize active playback, reconcile supported history, organize titles and artwork, show your activity in the correct friends feed, secure your account, prevent duplicate events, and maintain the product.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your viewing activity to target advertisements, retarget you, or build an advertising profile.

03

Who can see your activity

Your viewing activity is available to you and to friends you have chosen to connect with. Accepting a friend request creates the connection that allows both people to see each other's activity. Finding your account or opening your basic profile does not by itself reveal your watch history.

Public YouTube discovery may contain a randomized sample of videos recently watched on Zoshra. That sample does not include the watcher's identity, profile, friend relationships, exact watch time, live status, or watcher count. Identifiable viewing activity remains limited to you and your accepted friends.

Basic profile details such as your username, display name, photo, and bio may be shown so other people can find the right account and send a request. We may also disclose data when legally required or when necessary to investigate security abuse.

04

What the extension can access

The Zoshra extension runs only on its supported video and streaming services. It reads the playback details needed to identify what is actively playing and, where supported, the history or continue-watching information you ask it to sync.

Zoshra is not designed to read unrelated browsing, messages, passwords, payment information, or content from websites outside its supported service list. Live tracking is automatic after sign-in. History checks and full-history imports are optional and availability differs by service.

05

Service providers

Zoshra uses a small set of infrastructure and metadata providers to operate the product. Cloudflare hosts and delivers the application. Supabase provides authentication and database services. Google provides sign-in. TMDB supplies movie and television metadata and artwork. These providers process only the information needed for their role and are not advertising partners of Zoshra.

Zoshra's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

06

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Information received through Chrome extension permissions is used only to provide or improve Zoshra's user-facing tracking, syncing, and friends-feed features. It is not transferred for personalized advertising, credit decisions, or data brokerage.

Human access to personal viewing data is prohibited except when you give specific consent for support, when access is necessary for security or legal compliance, or when data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.

07

Retention and your choices

We retain account and viewing data while your Zoshra account is active so your feed and profile continue to work, except that YouTube viewing activity is automatically deleted after 30 days. Queued extension events are removed after delivery, and the local queue is capped to prevent unlimited growth. You can sign out of the extension at any time to stop new tracking.

To request access, correction, or deletion of your account data, use the Feedback control inside Zoshra and identify the account concerned. We may keep limited records where required for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

08

Security, age, and changes

Zoshra uses encrypted network connections and access controls to protect data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so we also limit collection to information connected to the product's purpose.

Zoshra is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes to how extension data is handled will be disclosed in the product as required.
